The Big Mushroom
HOME TO THE OLDEST LIVING CORAL IN THE WORLD
I hear this is the oldest living coral in the world. Great site to either start or end the trip. Look for the Garden eels and rays in the sand. Around and in the Big Mushroom look carefully for the many little creatures are are within. At the end the dive during the safety stop at 6 meters look for the resident stone fish....you can’t miss him. This dive can either be done from the boat or from the shore. From the shore during good conditions it’s a 200 meter surface swim and then drop down. I have yet to experience current. Maximum depth: 18 meters. Skill Level: Easy

Caikou
BIG HARD CORAL OUTCROP
This site is located on the North side and can only be done from the shore during the summer months. Just a big hard coral outcrop. We usually do this as a shore check out dive. Some surf to walk through at the beginning of the dive but there is a cement pathway to walk on. No current on the dives I have been on. Maximum depth: 15 meters. Level: Easy.

Chicken Head
ONE OF THE MOST POPULAR SITES ON ANY ON GREEN ISLAND
This site is located on the West side and can dived all year round. One of the most popular sights and any trip to Green Island for sure this site will be on the itinerary. Start this dive on the west side of the site at 30 meters. There are lots of sea fans and soft coral to see. I have seen several octopuses in this area. Then make your way around to the east side and there will be a drop off. If the water is less then 24C and the current is strong look for the Hammerhead sharks below in the winter months. I often see schooling jacks and just about every reef fish common to Taiwan. The end of the dive is on the shelf at 7 to meters. Perfect dive. Mild to Strong current. Maximum depth 32 meters. Skill level: Advanced.

Grand Canyon
THE NAME SAYS IT ALL
This site is located on the North side and can only be dived on during the summer months. As one would expect, the site is named for it’s huge canyon we dive through. The geography of this site is the best of all sites in Taiwan in my opinion. The site is quite away from shore and the swell is large even in the summer months. Current is usually moderate to strong. Maximum depth: 30+. Skill Level: Advanced.

Generals Rock
THE BEST SPOT IN GREEN ISLAND
This site is located on the North side and you can only dive there during the summer months. The site is a giant rock covered with coral, with several large sea fans on the bottom. Look for rays and garden eels in the sand. This the best spot in Green Island. The current picks up towards the surface. Maximum depth: 22 meters. Skill Level: Beginner.
